Baxian Forest Recreation Area

Baxian Forest Recreation area is generally very quiet. There are a number of short trails , most of which only take less than an hour to complete. The trail going though the small bamboo forest which is very beautiful.

If you stay here, getting up for an early morning walk will give you lots of chances to spot some of Taiwan’s rare indigenous birds. For the more adventurous there’s the Baxian Mountain Trail which follows the paths used by loggers long time ago. This difficult trail climbs over 1400m, takes 7-8 hours to complete and is only good for the very fit one.
