The 2010 Taipei Game Show opened last month at the Taipei World Trade Center, with 62 game developers and distributors presenting hundreds of new games at 450 booths.

On of big events at the five-day show will be the Intel Extreme Masters Asian contest, which will feature such exciting games as “Counter- Strike 1.6,” “World of Warcraft,” and “Quake Live.”

The competitions are expected to draw large crowds, mostly young fans, as students are on winter vacation, the longest break in the academic year.

According to the organizer the Taiwan Computer Association, the Taipei Game Show, which is now in its 18th year, has become a springboard for the Asia-Pacific digital content industry to explore the tremendous potential of the Chinese market.
