Little Europe
on Dec 22 in restaurantsOver the years, the hot neighborhood for expats to hang out in has shifted from the center of Taichung to the Canal District and now into the neighboring area often called Little Europe. The whole neighborhood, located roughly around Jincheng Road, is filled with specialty shops, clothing stores, international restaurants, cafes and bars.
A few of the streets are closed to traffic on weekends and have a delightful European feel to them. One can roam around the whole area in just a few hours, provided that the friendly locals don’t keep you busy in any of the establishments. “Soho Street” is the place to go after the sun goes down, with several expat owned drinking holes offering friendly company, cheap eats and imported beers.
